Hi, I’m Isaac Smith, the founder and editor of PC Glance, a website dedicated to all things related to computers, laptops, and technology. Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by how these machines work and what they can do.
I spent countless hours playing around with my laptop, researching solutions to problems, and discovering new software and gadgets. Following my passion for computer and technology I did my degree in computer science and I’ve been writing about technology since 2020, now I am a full time tech blogger.
On PC Glance, I share my passion and expertise with you through helpful tips, honest reviews, and comprehensive guides. My goal is to help you make the best choices for your needs and preferences, and to keep you updated on the latest innovations and trends in the tech industry. I love learning new things and sharing them with you.
When I’m not writing or testing new gadgets, I enjoy playing video games, watching movies, and reading books. I also like to travel and meet new people.
The alert is queued on a server before you set off, and your phone spends the journey postponing it. Going quiet is the trigger, which is why a lost signal or a flat battery can tell someone you are in trouble when you are not.
The gesture is your display held near the top of their phone, held until a card appears, followed by a choice between Receive Only and Share. This covers what NameDrop sends, what it holds back, the off switch, and the four other features that fire when two iPhones touch.
Send the photo to someone else first, because that one test splits this into two completely different problems. If the look is in the file, a Photographic Style is the likeliest cause, and whether you can undo it depends on which iPhone you have.
Holding an app icon runs two timers, not one, and the setting that governs the first is filed under Accessibility rather than Sounds and Haptics. This covers where it is, what Apple does and does not publish about it, and the neighbouring switch that can swallow the gesture entirely.
Apple only looks for duplicate photos while the iPhone is locked and connected to power, and says the pass can take up to a few days. This covers the iOS 26 route, why the row can be missing entirely, and what merging costs before you tap it.
Autocorrect stopped being only a spellcheck in iOS 17, when Apple added a word-prediction model. That is why a word you spelled correctly gets changed, and why the switch people reach for is usually the wrong one.
Each Weather widget carries its own location, set on the widget rather than in the app or in Settings, so changing one changes nothing else. This sorts the fix by what you are actually seeing, including the one version that has no documented fix.
Apple’s own two pages disagree on how to drop the pin, and one of them gives a gesture that does not work. The setting that stops most downloads sits in a sheet you cannot reach from Settings at all.
Every photo carries two dates and the library sorts by one of them, which is why a picture taken years ago can land at today. The switch is one button in Photos, and there is a separate fix when the photo’s own date is wrong.
Apple has no iPhone guide page for this setting at all. Here is what it does, what it does not control, the middle option almost nobody picks, and the readers whose maker tells them to leave it alone.
