Apple says iPhone 18 Pro and the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max became available on Friday, September 18, 2026, in its launch announcement.
Apple announced them on September 9. Preorders opened September 12. Those dates describe different events: unveiling the phones, accepting advance orders, and beginning retail availability.

A regular iPhone 18 has no confirmed date yet
Apple's current iPhone lineup lists iPhone 18 Pro alongside iPhone Duo, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone 16. It does not list a regular iPhone 18 for sale.
The folding model has its own Duo launch calendar, with October availability rather than the Pro models' September release.
The September Pro announcement therefore cannot establish a launch date for that separate model. A prediction for a later release remains a prediction until Apple publishes a date. No future day or month is confirmed here.
Earlier generations had their own schedules. The iPhone 16 family's release dates include a later 16e launch. That history explains why the exact suffix matters; it cannot set the next model's date.
A shipping estimate concerns the order being placed
For a Pro purchase now, select the exact model and configuration in Apple's store. Read the delivery or pickup estimate for your location before paying.
An estimate later than September 18 can reflect availability for that selection. It does not mean the Pro launch moved.
The distinction between an original release and a current order is ours. Two dates can answer different questions without contradicting each other.

Ask a seller to specify Pro, Pro Max, or the complete advertised model. For a phone already in hand, open Settings > General > About and read Model Name.

For a pending order, ask the retailer about that order's promised date. For an unannounced regular model, wait for Apple's announcement before treating a seller's future release claim as official.
